Up for auction here is an original, old , colored wood engraving on paper by world famous artist  Salvador Dali (1904-1989 Spanish Artist).  This is a wood engraving made after a Salvador Dali watercolor. This is not a lithograph made after a wood engraving..  This work is a page or plate from Dali's famous illustrated Divine Comedy.  We are not sure of the total edition size of the particular print. However, it was printed by Jean Estrade and bears an embossed "Estrade" in the paper in the lower left margin as well as the two words one which appears to read maybe "Les" but we can not make out the second word.  The total size of the image only is 9 3/4 inches high by just under 7 1/2 inches across. The total size of the paper is 13 inches by about 10 5/16 inches.  The work is framed free floating in a cut out matte. The work has a signature in the plate it also has a signature in pencil in the lower margin.  The work is in very good condition aside from the bottom edge being curled up .  There are no tears or restorations.  This work was originally purchased at Park West Galleries of Southfield, Michigan.  This work has a Certificate of Authenticity from that Gallery that comes with this work. It its registration number is 38870.00. This number is also written on the back in pencil. The certificate in the biography mentions that Salvador Dali still spends several months a year in New York which means that he was still living the time this work was purchased prior to 1989.  Salvador Dali is listed in many important art research books and his works are in museums around the world.  This is a very nice work.  Good luck bidding.  Shipping is $31.00 in the lower 48 United States.  Illinois residents please add 7.75% for state sales tax.
