General Electric Model 2H08 'Garcon' Wall Clock

The 1937-48 'Garcon' is a square metal kitchen wall clock that was available in seven different colors. Ours is the ivory color version. The dial features black numerals on a cream-white background with black hands and a golden center design. Nearly 1.5 million of these clocks were sold in the eleven years they were in production. Designed by John P. Rainbault.

The movement sonic cleaned, oiled and tested out of the case to insure good operation.
Rotor and field coil were inspected and tested over a five day period.
Original hands were cleaned and clear coated with clear lacquer.
Metal bezel was cleaned, and clear-coated.
Original metal dial was gently cleaned and shows very little wear. Though this dial was shown on most advertising for the Garcon, it is seen less often on the clocks that remain. A standard cream with black numerals is the usual dial found on the Garcon.
Case was stripped and sanded then re-enameled with a matching ivory - it is in excellent condition, with no dings, dents, or scratches.
Power cord was inspected, tested, and cleaned.
Original hardboard back is in good condition.
