The included Omega Walking Foot Attachment and the wide feed dogs makes it very easy to sew multiple layers of soft leather, suede and vinyl.  This machine has the ''Extra Power'' to drive such heavier materials.  It is useless to add a walking foot attachment to a weak machine.

Multiple layers of chairs recovering (thin) vinyl were very easy to sew but I do not recommend sewing thick boat seats vinyl.

Rigid army canvas with a size 18 needle and the commercial size 69 nylon thread makes a very nice, tight and solid stitch !

SIZE 69 THREAD IS THE MAXIMUM THREAD SIZE YOU CAN USE ON THIS MACHINE

Many layers of heavy canvas are so easy to sew, ideal for campground gears, drapery manufacturing and all heavy duty works.

Engaging the Automatic Bobbin Winder is very easy. You install the bobbin and push it, this will disengage the needle movement automatically.  The stitch length is adjustable from 6 to 30 stitches per inch.  All the stitches are preset at full width.  The upper tension is fully adjustable.

   

This machine sews on a flat surface or with the free arm for sleeves and hard to reach garments.  The Feed Drop lever is easy to reach, next to the bobbin area.  The accessories are located inside the free arm compartment.

PLEASE NOTE:

This machine is not intended to sew knife sheats, tooling leather, horse saddles or any hard to pierce leather such as rigid or too thick patches, hard to pierce logos, dog leashes, thick vinyl boat seats and other too stiff materials.  As long as you sew in soft leather and soft materials, this machine will do it.  Please refer to the above pictures and e-mail me if you are not sure before bidding.  This machine will do what it is advertized for.

This machine accepts the commercial nylon thread size 69.  If you need a weatherproof thread which will resist to the sun exposure for sunbrella, boat covers, etc., I suggest you the Coats D-64 Upholstery nylon thread.  It is available worldwide in any fabric store and serious sewing shops.  It comes in many colors.

DO NOT BELIEVE ANY SELLER TELLING YOU THEIR MACHINE WILL SEW WITH BIGGER THREAD SIZE LIKE SIZE 81, 92, 121, 259, ETC...

THOSE BIGGER THREADS WILL SIMPLY NOT PASS THROUGH THE SHUTTLE CLEARANCE AND YOUR MACHINE WILL JAM INSTANTLY !!!

 

The thread shuttle clearance on ANY shuttle oscillating machine is a thin area where the upper thread leaves the bobbin being pulled up.  A bigger thread such as the size 92 or 121 will NOT pass through this small clearance opening and will jam the machine instantly.  By trying this several times it can put the machine out of timing and lead to costly repairs.  This WILL NOT be considered like a ''Factory Defect'' and will void any warranty offered to you.

This machine will NEVER be out of timing because of its pinned shaft.  Once the ''perfect'' hook-needle timing was obtained at the factory, they drilled and installed a lifetime pin on the shaft. 

Also the feed fork (which drives the feeds) is made of METAL compared to so many machines on which a plastic feed fork is installed.  This means your longest stitch will NEVER come shorter and shorter with the years, like the plastic feed fork machines.

Plastic or Nylon Gear Machines will NOT sew for long in HEAVY materials like leather, sunbrella or multiple layers of denim.  The fragile gear teeth will reduce their ''meshing'' life rapidly because of heat generated by sewing heavy materials. 

PLASTIC OR NYLON GEARS DO NOT LAST !!

The foot lifter can lift the foot twice but in reality, 1-4'' to 5-16'' is the maximum thickness you will be able to sew.  Do not get confused as some sellers raise the foot lifter to the maximum and show almost 1-2 inch space under the foot like on the picture below... Nothing such thick can be sewn on any sewing machine !

A secure power switch control both the motor and the light compared to many other machines on which the switch controls the light only, not the motor power.  A heat exhaust opening cool down the motor all the time.

  

The motor is 120 Volts, (8,000 RPM) 1.1 Amp driven with a TRACTION COG BELT which eliminate any slipping.

   

The Omega high quality, electronic foot control will never overheat because of its advanced solid state components.  It is rated 2 Amps, this is VERY important that any foot control is rated over the motor maximum power.
