This coin could be a great addition to an existing or new collection or could be a reminder of a place visited or just dreamed about.  Elongated coin collecting is a great hobby whether by themes, animals, people, places, or what captures your eye, memory or heart.  It takes up relatively little space, it's not too costly and it's fun and easy for anyone, whether you press your own or buy them from someone else.

If STATUS of a coin is important to you, check the www.PENNYCOLLECTOR.COM website.  There you will find information about coins/coin machines AVAILABLE, RETIRED or GONE/REMOVED in all 50 states and around the world.  It's not always 100% up-to-date or accurate because machines do break down from time-to-time or get moved around but it's a GOOD guide.  There are other sites for elongated coins but that one is my favorite.

 On the pennycollector site, you can also find ideas on cleaning coins.  I use a solution to remove the majority of the tarnish before I scan and list.
