OPULENT 1905's UPPER CLASS BLACK FLORAL DAMASK COAT
This is the Best!! This is an attractive calling coat of the 1905's period, that a mid to upper class woman would wear over a bustle outfit. It is made of black floral damask and the collar is embellishment with machine embroidered floral lace. Damask with pattern of orchids and Ginko leaves with black and white stylized floral lining. The coat has a high stand up collar, bell shaped sleeves and wide front lapels that are decorated with the trim. The sleeves have a modest puff with a slight curve at the elbow and beautifully constructed. This coat is lined with a wonderful printed satin and edges are embellished with rows of trim.. It has a side button and loop closure. It is in very good and sturdy condition. There is no underarm discoloration. There is some slight wear to the lining as shown in the photos on the inside collar lining. There is one missing button. A small seam split on back. Splitting of material under outside collar at seam. The bodice construction and detail is a true work of art. The attention to detail and quality of workmanship is amazing. The pictures will reflect the workmanship. These age flaws are very minor and do not distract from the overall appearance. Shoulders 13-1/2", Bust 38", Waist 46", hem circumference, 134". Length from shoulder to hem 56" at back and 51" in front. Sleeves measure 27". This coat is worthy of one's collection.
