ORIENTAL MOTIFS 1 -Machine Embroidery & Sashiko Designs
4x4, 5x7

This set of Oriental designs includes some for 4x4, some for 5x7 hoop-sizes are below each design. The corners are nice for creative framing or decorating table linens and the scroll and double scroll can be used for borders. I have digitized these as regular embroidery and sashiko.  Sashiko is comparable to redwork, and is traditionally done in light or white thread on dark background. My sashiko designs are continuous line stitching with no trims-the only exception being if there are design elements not attached to anything else in the design. Because they are continuous line stitching, they are also suitable for machine quilting motifs. Design details listed on individual designs below.

• My designs are manually digitized with as few jumps as possible.

• Each design has been test stitched, edited where necessary, and retested until I see they will be trouble free for you to sew.

PROJECT IDEAS:

• Quilt squares-the sashiko can be used for quilt blocks or machine quilting motifs.

• Table runner, tablecloths, napkins, placemats

• Vest or jacket, tote bag

• Embellishment for guest towels or bath towel sets (be sure to use water soluble stabilizer)

• Embellishment for a favorite t-shirt. I stitch the design on weaver's cloth, tack it to the shirt leaving a small margin loose, which will fray for a nice edge. Another variation is to tack it down using a blanket stitch.
