I ship on Saturdays due to my work schedule. However, once someone has paid for an item, I try to pack it up and ship it the next day. My ability to do so depends on the time of school year because I am a teacher.
If you need an item within a week, only Priority Mail will accomplish this. I offer customers BOTH choices on most items. Large items such as lamps may require special shipping boxes which will be charged at cost only. No shipping to International Addresses other than Canada.
Bidders with a feedback score less than 10 may not be accepted and will have their bids automatically cancelled.
Payments for winning bids must be received within 5 days of the winning bid or I reserve the right to relist the item.
·I do not charge an extra handling fee. I offer combined shipping on multiple purchases at no extra cost whenever possible as long as the weight of the package is about the same. I am not responsible for packages once the US Postal Service has accepted them. By bidding, you are agreeing to these conditions.
·Packaging: I package the items with care to ensure that they are protected during shipping.
·Insurance: Optional but strongly recommended. Cost of insurance depends on the $ of the winning bid.

·In order to prevent misunderstandings, please email any questions before the end of the auction and I will respond as quickly as possible.
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This auction is for a gorgeous, ORIGINAL OIL by "The Oak Group" member artist, Thomas Van Stein. This Central California Group is well known for cutting edge and quality art. Please see artist Van Stein's website: www.thomasvanstein.net for more detail on him. I purchased this painting when I first came to Santa Barbara, CA in 1992. The artist himself has said that the background work is some of his best. It measures 24" by 17.5" and is in the original frame I purchased it in when it was first sold.
Van Stein is one of the members of the prestigious OAK GROUP painters of the Central Coast of California.
Painting landscapes is a way for me to attune to nature. When I am painting, I try to remain receptive towards the environment, to be still, and see how everything comes together. I want to slow my eye down, in order to identify, then paint in a harmonious way, all the various relationships I see. Once the painting process begins,I strive to get out of the way, so the painting can paint itself.
My goal is to get to the configuration of my subject; for me it is more important to paint what the subject "feels" like rather than what it looks like, and when I no longer know what to state or edit out, the painting is finished. I then say a prayer that the painting will take on a long life of its own.
