1875 Original Antique Map of

ARKANSAS, TENNESSEE, MISSISSIPPI, LOUISIANA, ALABAMA, GEORGIA, Northern FLORIDA, by J. Bartholomew.

Provenance Zell's Descriptive Hand Atlas of the World,
Published Philadelphia: T. Elwood Zell. 1875. "T. Elwood Zell, Philadelphia" is printed in the centre of the bottom margin. Yes, this is an original atlas map that was published and printed in 1875. It is 133 years old. We do not sell modern reproductions of any kind. A copy of the publication page from the actual atlas that this map came from will be shipped wth each map.
Cartographer John Bartholomew, F.R.G.S. "Engraved and Printed in Colour by J. Bartholomew" is printed neatly in the bottom margin.
Size / Format 17.5" x 13"  (45 cm x 33 cm)  Printed on one side only with one fold in the middle.  Clean 1" margins on all sides. Printed on very heavy, high quality paper (almost card).
Condition Excellent. There is no soiling or foxing whatsoever.  The paper is bright, with almost no age-toning. The map is colorful and very detailed (see magnified scan below). A 1" tear in the upper right corner of the map has been repaired. It is no longer noticeable.
Remarks Bartholomew was the best known British cartographer of the latter 19th century. His maps were used for the first several editions of the Times Atlas of the World. This map is unusually large and will look great framed.
