ORIGINAL! 1960s DON POST Frankenstein Mask from the famous "Calendar" Series.

How Rare is a mask that is the ONLY known surviving copy in the world? This foam filled latex copy made in the mid 60s, was used in the late 90s for reference by sculptor Darren Perks when Don Post Studios decided to re-release their most famous and most collectible line of Monster Masks again. The Master mold had worn down over the decades and had it not been for this copy, many of the minute details would have been lost forever. This mask also has another impressive chapter in its history to boast. It lived for years with Glass Eyes (included in Auction) in the famous HOLLYWOOD WAX MUSEUM "Chamber Of Horrors"!

Sculpted by Pat Newman from photos of Glen Strange as the Frankenstein Monster, the Calendar Frankenstein has been featured on many classic Magazine covers (Monster World, Famous Monsters Of Filmland, etc.) and even a photo shoot with Roman Polanski (see pic below)!

CONDITION:
The down side of collecting masks is that Latex is not impervious to aging (like Keith Richard). Luckily this mask had been foam filled with poly-foam back in the 1960s and that is probably why it survives to this day. The Latex is hard and cracked in some areas and still soft in others. The neck area has several small pieces broken off from improper storage, but still eerily displays well on a stand. All hair has been removed and although the mask has been repainted to show well in the Museum environment, many areas show the original grey-green paint from Don Post Studios. Some may consider having the mask restored by a professional mask restorer like Kelly Mann of Mask Doctor fame and others like me who enjoy extreme patina might just display it as is and enjoy its rich history. Either way, this is THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD that I have ever seen!

All Sales Final, so please ask your questions Before auction's end.

Good Luck,
-Monster

About Us: On EBAY since 1998, we offer a variety of items, but specialize in rare Monster Related Items.  We describe them to the best of our ability and use multiple photos to help aid you in your bidding decisions. All items are as pictured and described. If you do not see a particular part or that part is not described in the auction then it most likely is not included. When able, items that require testing are tested, however there are some items that we (for whatever reason) are unable to test. Those items are sold AS-IS untested which means there is no guarantee that they will work as originally intended. In most cases these items are fine, but in some cases they are not.

If you have any questions whatsoever in regards to an auction don't hesitate to contact PRIOR TO BIDDING. By placing a bid you are agreeing to all the parameters set forth within the auction. Your bid is a binding contract and will be treated as such.

Regarding Classes of Mail and Delivery Times: While Media Mail and Parcel Post are cost effective they are also the slowest methods of transport. Within the continental U.S. (lower 48) these can take up to two to three weeks to arrive. Please keep this in mind when choosing class of mail during checkout. DO NOT EXPECT TO RECEIVE MEDIA MAIL SHIPMENTS ANY SOONER THAN TWO WEEKS. Sometimes it will arrive quicker, most times this is not the case. In some instances if Parcel Post is chosen we may upgrade the shipment to Fed Ex Ground since they are a more efficient means of transport and also include free insurance up to $100 (which the post office does not).

Priority Mail is generally 2-3 business days, however there is no guarantee of this. All domestic orders are shipped with some type of tracking information. This information will be emailed to you when your order is processed and in most cases will be available in the order details of our transaction. Since we process online you may not see any progress on your package for the first day or so as our local post office indicated to us that they are not required to scan these type of packages upon arrival. They will be scanned at the processing center and along the way to your residence / business.

Regarding Our Processing Time: We are a small operation and ship out twice a week. Due to this please expect a minimum of five business days (even though most orders will ship out sooner). All orders are important to us. We appreciate your business so please respect our posted processing time. Choosing Priority or Express Services WILL NOT NEGATE the posted processing time. By purchasing this item you are agreeing to this processing time.

Regarding Shipping Costs: In most transactions we use the shipping calculator so you can determine the cost of having the item shipped to you prior to placing a bid or making an offer.  Shipping is not only based on the weight of an item but also on the dimensions of the item after packaging as well as where you reside (an item shipped from the east coast to the west coast will cost quite a bit more than an item sent within the same state).

For Non - Auctions: Shipping/handling to be determined by using the shipping calculator found within this auction. Please note: while your order may ship sooner assume that there will be at least five business days prior to shipment. Business days do not include weekends or holidays.  Thank You for Your interest.
Pickup is available for this item should you live in the Los Angeles area.  Payment must be made at auctions end prior to scheduling a pickup date/time. Item must be picked up within seven business days of auctions ends.

ATTENTION: WE ACCEPT PAYPAL PAYMENTS!
