ANTIQUE PAIR OF ORIGINAL MINIATURE OIL PAINTINGS IN ORIGINAL WOODEN PRIMITIVE FRAMES BY TEXAS ARTIS RUTH BLACK AND HANDSIGNED BY THE ARTIST BOTH MINIATURE OIL PAINTINGS FEATURE WESTERN MOTIFS OF COUNTRY BARN OR RURAL SCENES NO RESERVE Recently purchased as part of a private estate sale from Atlanta, Georgia. The miniature oil paintings are both handsigned by the artist, Ruth Black, a listed artist from San Antonio, Texas. Each painting has a vintage paper label on the back which reads: Ruth Black West Lullwood San Antonio, Texas. An appraisal on the paintings suggested the date of creation to be post 1940. The scenes featured in both paintings are simplistic and elegant in design with the vintage paintings retaining their original vivid colors. The paintings are quite colorful and realistic and both are painted on small wooden boards. Their frames are quite stunning as well, especially the Windmill Painting's Shadowbox Frame. The larger of the two miniature oil paintings features a Windmill which prominently holds the eye and is surrounded by a country or rural setting. The smaller painting is quite unique showing the top of an old country tin roofed barn and an unusual tall structure extending on the top of the barn. It appears to be an older version of primitive bird feeder or nest. Beautiful and well-preserved condition which can be seen in my close-up pictures below. The paintings are simply exquisite. I purchased several other similar items from the same Atlanta estate which shall be listed this week.
