The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) is a fraternal organization whose
origin is based on the English Oddfellows service organizations, which began
during the 1700s.
The Odd Fellows began in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1819 when Thomas Wildey
began Washington Lodge No. 1. This lodge received its charter from Manchester
Unity of Odd Fellows in England.
This ledger book presents membership information and records of the Cochranville
Lodge Number 544, located in Cochranville, Pennsylvania, in Chester County.
The lodge met every Saturday evening in the Cochranville Hall. The
lodge was founded in 1851.
The records are dated from 1875 to 1889.
