This auction is for a 0.33g Odessa meteorite. The crater formed by this meteorite in Odessa, Texas stretches 535 feet across, but it is very shallow due to 50,000 years of erosion. The crater was recognized in the 1920's and explored by drilling teams in the 30's and 40's. At the time, it was thought that a giant iron meteorite was buried beneath the crater. However, it was eventually determined that the meteorite exploded in the air and left only smaller pieces in the crater and surrounding area.

You get the meteorite, gem case, and ID card shown below. The cube shown for scale measures 1cm and is not included.
