This is a 108.8 gram etched part slice of the odessa meteorite. VERY nice and BRIGHT. It has been etched to show the widmanstatten pattern. Each type of meteorite has its own pattern, although some are very similar. A sliced piece is a great addition to a collection if you have a whole piece of Odessa to show it next to. When a meteorite is cut and etched you will lose about 35% of the original weight of the meteorite. Not to mention the work and expensive tools. Odessa was found in Ector county Texas in 1922. It is an iron (IAB) Coarse octahedrite bandwidth 1.7mm.
88 mm X 89 mm Nice etch! Very cool inclusions!
