     The Pennsylvania Impressionists, Garber, Redfield and Coppedge have all been drawn by the Delaware River's landscape to paint in their artworks.  John Williams, who has lived in the Bucks County area for over fifteen years is a Modern Impressionist that loves the beauty of this classic rural scene.  This is a wonderful large painting with emphasis on the golden and red against blue and the mirrored reflections in the slow current water.   Note the details which he adds to this luminous artwork,  which on a 20 x 24 canvas will frame to a very large size if desired.

John McDowell Williams (b.1949) is a complex artist. His subjects are many and his style is his alone. Although he has been compared to Edward Hopper, Childe Hassam, Winslow Homer, and Zoltan Szabo-all artists he admires, John's vision is continually evolving. As a multi-media {working in gouache, watercolors and oils} University trained in the Fine Arts, John knows the importance of color harmony, balance and uniqueness in his composition. Yet daily experience is his basis of Impressionist Art. The American Scene is surely a John McDowell Williams adventure.
