Antique Guardene Fire Extinguisher

This old copper hand operated Guardene fire extinguisher is in good condition for its age. The extinguisher is empty, and cannot be refilled or reused.

The riveted cylinder has build up a dark patina and has some surface corrosion in places, but is intact, with no breaks, bulges or repairs. There is one dent in the metal, near the bottom of the black painted face plate (see 7th photo, below).

The red rubber hose shows signs of age and wear, and has an area that looks like heat damage near the top (more pictures below).

The handle at the top, a small handle on the back for wall mounting, and a handle on the underside (for when the extinguisher is turned upside down for use) are all present and intact. The top and back handles are in very good condition. The handle on the underside is rusty, but solid.

The extinguisher has a metal plate on the front that reads: 'Guardene (Reg. US Pat. Off.) Fire Extinguisher, Tested To 350 lbs, For Fire Turn Bottom End Up'. At the center of the black plate are instructions for charging the fire extinguisher, and at the bottom maintenance and a warning to protect from frost'.

A small brass plate below this reads 'Underwriters' Laboratories, Inspected, 2 1/2 Gallon Hand Fire Extinguisher, Classification A-1, No. A-284724'.

The extinguisher measures 23.5" tall and 7.25" wide across the base. It weighs about 15 lbs, and will ship by UPS Ground.

Delivery Confirmation is included with every order. Most items ship within 24 hours of payment, and orders will ship the same day if payment is received before about 11am (Central). Some larger items may ship by UPS.

International Shipping:
I ship worldwide by First Class International or Priority Mail. Many of my smaller items have international shipping prices listed. For any that don't please contact me for a shipping quote.

Problems & Returns:
