Here is a very nice old late 19th-early 20th Century Moro kriss sword from the southern Philippines. This one is 30in. overall in the scabbard with a multi-wave blade of 21.5in. The blade shows heat treated hardened edges with a "softer" center core. The wooden hilt is corded then lacquered with wear showing to the most raised areas. The pommel is silver in the form of a classic Moro stylized cockatoo. There is some slight damage to the one side of the top of the hilt causing some minor bending and tearing, but all still there and solid. The scabbard is hard wood with a repair to the top portion that is practically unnoticable. The rattan is restored. Nice example of a rather rare hilt form.
