Tiles come in different shapes (average width: 6") and colors stemming
from their age and use on different roofs in different climate zones troughout
Germany. Tiles are easily installed with battens nailed 71/2 " on
center. 300 tiles will cover one square and one crate contains 600 tiles
(2 squares). Each tile has a nose that will hook behind the batten. Additionally
you can screw each tile to the batten using coated screws. Drilling through
each tile using a cordless drill is easily accomplished while installing
the tiles. This will give you the most protection in high wind zones.
The ridge is capped of by using antique Spanish Mission Barrel tiles which
are fastened with long coated screws as well.
The weight of the finished roof runs
at 1600 lbs per square. Please ensure that your roof is rated for this
weight. Talk to an engineer or architect before purchasing.
