Here's the second of two old tine signs we're listing this week. This vintage Old Gold sign came out of a barn from here in New Hampshire recently.  This tin advertisment sign is of some vintage and our guess is it is from the late 50's to early 60's. Apparently after use as a tobacco or cigarette advertising sign someone elected to paint the reverse and use it as an "Exit" sign for a few more years. The primary advertisment is for "Old Gold Cigarettes" and the sign probably started out as an advertising sign nailed to the wall of an old country store in New Hampshire.  At the bottom of the sign reads "M'f'd By P. Lorillard Co Inc."  and "Made In USA", On the side of the cigarette boxes reads "P. Lorillard Company Established 1760". There are a couple very minor surface rust areas on the bottom corners of the sign and at the bottom of the "O" on the world "Old" as shown in our photos. The coloring on this one is not too bad, somewhat weathered but relatively bright as shown. The opposite side of the sign marked "Exit" has some scrapes as we show and seems to have been hand painted. There are some slight flexes or bends to the sign though it largely retains it's original shape when layed flat.  The sign measures 14 inches tall and 33 inches in width, so a relativley large sign. That's about it. Hopefully the pictures will be helpful to the description. We'll start this old or vintage advertising sign low so enjoy the auction. We'll add some stiffener pieces to this when packed to help prevent bending. When packed this item will weigh about 5.75 Lbs and USPS Parcel Post service will be used to provide the lowest cost postal alternative to the winning bidder. We will be happy to assist the winning bidder should they desire upgraded postal service, postal insurance, etc. at additional cost. We are happy to combine items whenever practical to assist buyers in lowering postage costs. We have no packing or handling fees. This item is for sale in the US only, no exceptions.
