Here is a rare Native American Hupa Beaded Bow. The Hupa Indians are from North East California, more specifically in the Hupa (Hoopa) Valley along the Trinity River. They are the most southern of the Northwest Indian culture. The Hupa, like all the North West tribes were highly artistic people. They were very sophisticated in their crafts and equipment. This bow is 16 1/2" long and is dated to 1890. It is guaranteed authentic and comes with a Jackson Galleries COA. They appraised this artifact at $2000.00 to $3000.00 in 2006. Jackson Galleries can be found on the internet and they are well known authenticators of artifacts. This is a great investment grade piece and it displays well. Insurance costs will be calculated by the final sale price. Outside of the USA will be required to pay the extra shipping costs incured. More items comimg soon! Note: Another collector emailed me and said he believes this is a Modoc Beaded Child's Puberty Bow. He said it is made of wood and muslim with bead wrapping. The Modoc used to straddle the California and Oregon line but after the 1873 war, they were sent to Oklahoma. Many returned and are now on the Klamath Reservation in Oregon. Thank you Jerry for the information. |
