Old Star Safety Emblem for Rear License Plate in Box

You are bidding on an old Star Safety Emblem that connects to the rear license plate that is still in the box. It was made by National Safety Devices of San Jose, California. It is 6 7/8" tall, 4 5/8" wide and 5/8" thick. It is in excellent condition. I am not sure just how old but the patent is D93772. It is older than the 1950's, guessing I would say the 1930's. The ruby center is glass. The box is in very good condition with a little stain. This is the 2nd topper that I am listing - I had bought these at an old estate sale-both unused in the box.
