This is an old original ship's wheel that was used on an early 1900's Tramp Steamer ship. The wheel is made of oak, which was painted blue at one time {see pix} and the center hub is made of iron with the name - STEELE & CONDICT - JERSEY CITY N.J.. The wheel measures 40" across, is 3" thick and weighs 46 pounds before packing.
