Old Tibetan Monastery Brocade Thangka:Yellow Jambhala

Financial crisis brings debt, but Buddha bring peace and happiness.

Customer who bid in our store will be given one silk khata from Tibet for free. Hope khata will bring you auspiciousness and compassion.

A khata, is a traditional ceremonial scarf used in Tibet . It symbolizes goodwill, auspiciousness and compassion. It is usually made of silk. Tibetan khatas are usually white symbolising the pure heart of the giver.

We have run Tibetan artworks shop in Chamdo, Tibet since 1945,and shutdown before 1951 for some special reasons. We reinstated our store at 1978( The year of reformation of China). After 25 years day to day operation, We are now one of the biggest Tibetan antique & handicrafts shop in Khamba (Kangba) area. Shop is run by full-time Buddhists, devoted to practices of the Tibetan tradition.

There is no gainsaying the fact that the most distinctive and familiar form of Tibetan art is undoubtedly the thangka or thanka (literally a "rolled up image"). To understand and appreciate this unique style of painting, it is important to realize its essentially symbolic nature and that the figures populating its rich canvas have a meaning over and beyond their external forms.Mayadevi, Buddha's mother granting auspiciousness to an elaborately painted mandala; the terrible deity Mahakala vowing to protect the monastery of Nalanda; Padmasambhava consecrating the first Buddhist monastery of Tibet; a Nyingma refuge tree; Vajrayogini - the fearful sky-walker; White Tara with her all-embracing vision of compassion; a yellow-hued Padmasambhava; Gautam Buddha with scenes from his life ;Manjushri carrying aloft his sword of wisdom; the wheel of life;Mandala of Amitabha and a soft textured thangka of Maitreya the future Buddha.

Yellow Jambhala:

Yellow Jambhala (Tibetan: dzambhala serpo): The God of Wealth, he is the manifestation of Buddha Ratnasambhava. He is yellow in colour, adorned with a crown, jewel and gold ornaments and silk garments, seated on a snow lion above a lotus seat. The snow lion head is turning upward to show respect for the master. With left hand in the stoat a jewel keeping in mouth and right hand the oriflamme, with the jewel earring and jewel necklace, he is exposing his chest and abdomen, the aura and lucky cloud surrounded on the sides.

The beneficence of the Yellow Jambhala is that his doctrine enables the follower to have good luck and virtues, prolong his life, increase his intelligence and gain both material and spiritual benefits.

ORIGIN: Chamdo,Tibet
