Hi!

I'm so happy to introduce a new bear,
 "Little Alexander or Little Alex for short"
 
He's such a sweetheart.







Here is Lil' Alex with one of my 24" antique bears.






Little Alex is a tattered old bear, who lived in an old house built in the 1850's.  He lived there for many years with the little girl who received him as a Christmas present. Sadly, one day the girl, now grown, moved away and left little Alex behind. He's now looking for a new home...maybe it will be yours?

Little Alex measures 13" tall.  He is made from sparse German mohair. He has old shoe button eyes.  His paws & ears are lined with cotton fabric that I have stained. I have shaved & heavily stained the mohair for an antique worn look. His nose is made from Perle cotton that I sanded and waxed to give her a more antique look.   Little Alex is stuffed with excelsior and gravel for really nice weight and a slumpy little tummy.  He wears a vintage style Christmas jumper distressed to look really old.  Little Alex comes with his grungy old boot filled with Christmas goodies.  He also comes with his vintage glass Christmas ornament that pictures an old tricycle. 

The boot is actually where Little Alex's story comes from.  A friend of mine just purchased an old home built in the 1850's.  It's in great need of repair, but the structure is magnificent!  The old boot, along with some other treasures, were left in the house. Little Alex also got his name from one of the original owners of the house, Alexander McCollum.

 
 
Little Alex looks like he just came out of the attic of that 1850's home.
What a wonderfully sweet bear to brighten any corner of your home. 
 Anything else pictured is not included.

I have been honored by Teddy Bear and Friends Magazine for the past 2 years, 2008-2009, with a TOBY(Teddy Bear of the Year Award) nomination for my bear Lily and for my artist vignette.


My work has been featured in Early American Life, Southern Living, Teddy Bear Review, and Teddy Bear & Friends, in the U.S., plus Teddy Bear Times and Teddy Bear Scene, both in the U.K.
