Optical Filter 501 Astronomy OIII Narrow 28mm 1.25"

A Precision Interference Filter for made specifically for ebay Astronomers, that selectively transmits the Oxygen III emission of distant stars. This is an improved design that more complely attenuates the entire visible spectrum. When used with a CCD camera that does not have an IR blocking filter built in, one should use this with an (L) filter to attenuate the IR that CCD sensors are very sensitive to.

 This filter has had significant development to produce excellent transmission of the Oxygen lines at 500.4 nm, while attenuating most of the background light from other sources. This is a relatively narrow pass band nebula filter, with a bandwidth of 6nm as compared to a more typical 10nm. The filter prior to mounting has an outer dimension of 25 mm. As supplied it is already mounted in a standard 28 mm (or 1.25") eye piece threaded ring.
