These organic seeds are from my 2009 planting ready for the 2009/2010 growing season I grow all my poppys. The seeds are true to there picture. I dont buy and resale like most sellers on here. That's why I can sell my seeds at a lower cost and a greater quantity. Also if you need more than one packet of seeds just let me know.
Most poppies are very easy to grow. They are a favorite of gardeners for rock gardens, flower beds, containers, and most any place that you want color. Start planting in spring March thru May or fall late September thru November. They like the cool weather to germinate. Plant your seeds in the fall or early spring. They will germinate in 5-14 days. The flower is a beautiful Pure White. I will ship multiple packest for the one shipping cost. Over 2000 seeds enough for a couple of plantings. You never know when mother nature will wipe out your seedlings. When you buy less than a hundred seeds you would have to wait until next year to start again unless you have plenty of seeds Thats why I sell so many. I had that happen to me. I find that cow manure, horse manure deer droppings or rabit droppings work very well for organic growing. Plant your seeds in the fall or early spring. They will germinate in 5-14 days. How to grow Poppies
Prepare the ground properly. Till up the area you want to plant poppies in. It is a good idea to add some kind of organic fertilizer to the soil. Cow manure is best and lime if you need it. Water the soil heavily before sowing your seeds. They need to stay moist to germinate. There are two times of the year that are best for planting poppy seeds. The Spring and Fall. Poppies are a very hardy plant and they like the cold. So plant your seeds just after you think the last snow has fallen or late fall they will winter well. Once your seedling gets 4 to 6 leafs on them start thinning them out to about 6 inches apart. They need the room to grow. I prefer to cut the unwanted seedlings out instead of pulling them so not to disturb the other poppies root. For the Fall planting, plant your seeds in the middle of September thru November and prepare the soil as I have indicated above. Poppies are very hardy, they should winter over just fine. However just in case, save about half your seeds for the Spring planting.
