Overview & Area: Interesting copper-engraved print showing the hunt of Lions. With German title outside the print: Die Löwen

Shows several hunters with bows, shields, and burning torches, trying to push the lions into nets! Very nicely and detailed engraved! With a decorative title banner.
 
This print is an guaranteed original copper engraving, printed and published around 1683 in Paris! Allain Mallet is famous for his monumental work: "Description de l'Univers" which contained numerous, small, but accurate and charming maps, views, and plates from all parts of the world. 
=> A decorative early print!

Size: engraved area approx.: 5.5" x 3.8" Inches; 14 x 9,7 cm + margins

Condition: Printed on hand-laid paper. Very good but slightly uneven impression with some fading, and age-toning. Light soiling. Right side with printers smudging. Wide margins with some soiling and spotting.
In very attractive and decorative antiquarian condition! => Have a look at the photos for more detail!
