SOURCE: From the collection of Captain J. C. Gilchrist who commanded B Battery of M55 8" Self-Propelled Howitzers, 2nd Battalion, 92nd Artiillery stationed at Rivers Barr Base in Giessen, Germany. The M55 artillery was nuclear capable and was part of the deterent against Soveit attack in West Germany during the height of the Cold War.
