Original Antique Gouache Painting Signed F. Shafer  

This is a very beautiful antique painting that I believe is Gouache style as it looks similar to a watercolor but has what also appears to be a chalky texture.  It is signed D? F. Shafer, not the famous Frederick Shafer but rather this is very similar to the paintings that were often attributed to him but now are believed to be from a similar Kentucky artist of the period who often worked in this medium.  It measures 28" diameter and condition is as shown, still in good shape for an antique of this age.
