This is an original miniature work of art that comes direct to you from the Artist's studio
This miniature acrylic painting portrays a view of the Yosemite National Park from the Glacier Point Road. This Small Format Art (SFA) is signed by the artist on the bottom, and the back of the card gives the title, the medium used, the year painted, the artist's signature and the artist's Internet Art Gallery Address. This is an original acrylic painting; It is not a print or a photograph. The scanned image does not pick up all the color variations and intensity of the original painting, but it does intensify more of the irregularities and bumps from the background support than are visible when viewing the art in person.
WHAT IS AN "ACEO"?
ACEO stands for ART CARDS EDITIONS AND ORIGINALS
ACEO's are, by definition, 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" - trading card size, - but this is where the similarity ends.
Each ACEO is as unique as it's creator
An ACEO may be done in watercolor, acrylic, oil, graphite, pastel, pencil, colored pencil, pen and ink, photography, or mixed media, and is only limited by the artist's immagination.
SMALL FORMAT ART (SFA)
Small Format Art (SFA) is larger than an ACEO, but smaller than an 8x10.
SFA offers a peek into the artist's psyche - unrestricted by commercial concerns.
It is an inexpensive way for a purchaser to 'try out' the artwork of an artist whose work they think they love, - before they purchase a larger work of art.
ART CARDS and SFA's ARE

About the Artist
Pat is primarily a self-taught artist. She studied briefly with Lynne Koerner and Elisabeth Ferber in Florida, and has supplemented this instruction with an extensive collection of books and video tapes from well known artists. Pat has particularly admired the works of the Hudson River School of Painters in both their choice of subject matter and their treatment of light, and has studied the paintings of the Luminists and the Impressionists. Her style can be characterized as a 'Realistic Impressionism' because of her bold use of color and her preference for 'suggesting' rather than 'detailing' features in her paintings
Born in the northeast United States, she grew up enjoying the great outdoors, and spent countless hours hiking, boating, swimming and enjoying area activities. She loved the variety of weather, and was as happy ice skating on a frozen pond as she was body surfing the waves at Long Island's Jones Beach. She loved going for long trail rides on horseback, or sailing a racing class boat on unpredictable Long Island Sound.
Her love of the changing seasons ranged easily from enjoyment of the crisp days of October with their breathtaking display of autumn leaves, to the delight of waking up to an overnight snowfall which had transformed familiar objects into a virtual wonderland of unusual shapes and mounds. She loved to hear the crunch of snow beneath her boots on a frigid January morning, but also enjoyed watching for the first returning Robin, examining the barren tree branches for signs of swelling buds, and searching the thawing grounds in March to see if the crocus and daffodils had poked their heads above the dwindling snow cover to announce the coming of Spring.
The theme of Pat's artwork has always been - The World Around Us. Pat feels that although we are surrounded by natural beauty, our lives are often so busy and stressed out, we don't take the time to notice it.
Several of her collectors have told her that they like to hang her paintings in their homes and offices. Then, when life becomes unusually stressful, they look at one of her paintings, and it momentarily takes them out of their current situation to a more peaceful time, and they feel refreshed.
Pat lived in Florida for more than 30 years and was inspired by the incredible beauty of its sunrises, sunsets and it's very colorful foliage and tropical flowers. Many of her paintings reflect her experience with this tropical area, but the primary focus of her paintings is the beautiful woodlands, streams and mountains of the New England area, and the incredible landscapes around her current home in the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountain areas of North Carolina, north Georgia and Tennessee.
She has also traveled extensively to our National Parks in Colorado, California and the Southwest, and along the Atlantic coastline, always taking pictures of the countryside. Her goal as an artist is to try to recapture the beauty of these places on canvas so she can share it with others.
Collectors
Her paintings currently hang in private collections in Altamonte Springs, Orlando, Longwood, Winter Springs, Delray Beach, Jupiter, Jacksonville, Jensen Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Mount Dora and Winter Park in Florida, and in private homes in New York, New Jersey, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Virginia, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Alabama, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio, Indiana,Wisconsin, Montana, California, Washington, Tennessee, Maryland, Delaware, Spain and Canada. She has found the Internet to be a great way to expose her artwork to those who might never see it under other circumstances.
Exhibitions
Pat's paintings have been exhibited at the Gallery on Virginia, Ocoee City Hall, Downtown Orlando Library, Maitland Civic Center, Beardall Senior Center, Creative Spirit Gallery and Galaxy Aviation, all in the Greater Orlando area. She had a two month long solo artist show at Apopka City Hall in Apopka, Florida.
