Original Signed Leo Meiersdorff 1965 Dizzy Gillespie Wa

This is an original Signed Leo Meiersdorff 1965 Dizzy Gillespie Watercolor which came out of a Manhattan estate and it is in good looking and in good display condition. It is a picture of DizzyÜ#39;s group playing and is signed by Meiersdorff with ''65'' after his name. Leo Meiersdorff studied classical piano and fine arts at the Berlin Academy in Germany, performed jazz throughout Europe and then came to the U.S. and started creating paintings which captured the spirit of jazz. He became famous for his stylized boldly colored pictures of jazz men in a jazz session and then was asked to design record album covers. Over the course of his distinguished career he designed more than 360 album covers. He also designed TV sets for major jazz productions. Meiersdorff died in 1994 in Idyllwild, California. In this watercolor Meiersdorff chooses subtly contrasting colors and the Gillespie musicianÜ#39;s pronounced stances to visually reflect the groupÜ#39;s music. This is a superb framed painting which measures 1''x20''x27-1/8'' and weighs 8 pounds.
