WWII Springfield Randall---Very Nice----The wide blade is 8 1/4" long and unused. It is marked "Randall Made / Spfld Mass". It is unused with no rust or pitting and a nice patina. It has a nice leather handle with 4 thick spacers at the guard and 4 thick spacers at the pommel (unusual). It comes with a nice original leather sheath. The only damage to the sheath is thread separation on one side of the stone pocket. If it was mine, I'd have a leather guy re-sew those stitches. The stone that is with the sheath is a little wider than the correct one and I think that is why the threads have separated. In Robert Hunt's book "Randall Military Models", on page 11 he calls this a "Wide Blade" Springfield Fighter. The one he shows has the same wide blade, same color spacers and same sheath. In Silvey's WWII book pg 206, bottom sheath is the same. There is also a letter from Mike Silvey and Gary Boyd authenticating the knife and sheath. This is a Very nice WWII Randall. I have a reserve to protect my investment. If you have any questions please ask.
