Description: It is so rare to find sterling silver flatware and holloware by Stavre Gregor Panis, that it is a real treat for me to be able to offer this set of 8 hand wrought sterling silver demitasse spoons. Each spoon is entirely hand wrought and each feature a unique nautical sea creature including: lobster, shell, scallop shell, turtle, seahorse, star fish, fish, and crab. The handles are all hand hammered and each creature has hand incising to really make a detailed design. These are just beautiful spoons! And, early work. These are a treasure and a true rarity!!

History: The Panis Gallery was established in Falmouth, Massachusetts at Cape Cod in 1932 by Stavre Gregor Panis and his wife, Gladys. Panis was born in eastern Europe and moved to this country in 1905.
Panis attended the Massachusetts School of Art and was a trained metalsmith, focusing on jewelry and enameling. Panis's jewelry is usually made of sterling silver (though he also worked in copper for non-jewelry items) and often features intricate saw piercing and chasing. Panis belonged to the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts. The work done by Panis often featured a naturalistic, nautical or oceanic motif. Work by Panis is highly sought after.
Note that I combine shipping on purchases of multiple items. All fragile items are double boxed for safe and secure shipping, paper items are sent in rigid mailers or boxes and are waterproofed. 8597
