PAPAGO TALL COIL INDIAN BASKET 1930 NAN PYLE COLLECTION

FIRST TIME OUT OF UPSCALE INDIAN NATIVE AMERICAN COLLECTOR'S COLLECTION.  BE SURE TO SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS FOR MORE PRISTINE BASKETS, POTTERY AND MORE.  This auction is for a TALL PAPAGO COIL BASKET  ( Ca. 1930s) from the NAN PYLE COLLECTION.  According to experts, Nan Pyle was the Proctor & Gamble heiress who passed away and in her Will she wanted her collection to be distributed IN TACT to a museum; however, it was not to be that way.  Instead, her collection was broken up and sold to museums.   As such, collectors were able to purchase these much-sought-after pieces.   The black weave is Devils Claw and it has wonderful fine hand crafting.   The original owner purchased this piece from the Silver Son West Gallery, Inc. in Sedona, AZ.   You can see why is call a Coil Basket from the photo of the bottom.  The colors are brilliant and crisp.    Be sure to ask questions, request more photos because this item is non returnable.  From non smoking environment.  Will ship internationally only if they have US shipping address.  Check out Hopi, Zulu, Red Star, Blue Corn, items from the Nan Pyle Collection, Vicky de Taos, Storyteller items, Beaver pottery,Klamath and more.
