"Portraits in Stone"-TM (Trademark)2003: Physical properties of this item appear to be as follows:  Weight= about 12 cts.  Maximum dimensions= about 19mm x 11mm x 11mm.  Partly transparent.  This is chrysoberyl grading into alexandrite.  The color change is illustrated in the photos as follows:  1st and 3rd photos are under natural (cloudy) sunlight.  2nd and 4th photos are against an incandescent light.  5th and 6h photos are under an incandescent light.  This piece is from an old collection and it is rare to see such pieces which are partly transparent AND over 10 cts.  APPRAISAL DATA: This item is a unique, one-of-a-kind object.
