1961 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL PRESIDENTIAL PARADE VEHICLE X-100 OPEN TOP PAUL'S MODEL ART MINICHAMPS SCALE 1:43 A BEAUTIFUL MODEL VERY DETAILED. The Kennedy Car: This presidential parade vehicle dubbed X-100 by the US Secret Service. began life as a stock 1961 Lincoln Continental four door convertible. Ford Motor Company and Hess & Eisenhardt, custom automobile builders of Cincinnati, Ohio worked together to create the most modern open parade limousine of its day. The X-100 carried no armor or weapons because the purpose of the car was to make the president more visible , not to provide protection. That philosophy changed completely after November 22. 1963. On that day, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated while riding in the x-100 through the streets of Dallas. President Kennedy's wife, Jacqueline, sat next to the president in the rear seat. Also riding in the car was John Connally, the governor of Texas, and his wife Nellie. This car is a piece of history depicting what the car looked like before the assassination of president J. F. Kennedy. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ASSASSINATION, A SPECIAL TASK FORCE DECIDED THAT THE MOST PRACTICAL WAY TO PREVENT A SIMILAR EVENT FROM RE-OCCURING WAS TO REBUILD THE X-100 FROM THE GROUND UP. AMAZING DETAIL OF THE PEOPLE IN THE CAR AS WELL AS OF THE CAR. PLEASE ASK FOR MORE DETAILED PICTURES IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM.. This is some piece of information that SOMEONE SENT ME "hello: you might want to add that the car was kept in use by the Secret Service until 1977 and then place in the Ford Museum in Michigan (U.S.) " Check out my other items!
