THESE RARE, PEWTER CHARGERS OF TAVERN SCENES ARE THE HARDEST OF ALL TO FIND,THESE LARGE CHARGERS ARE 12" ACROSS AND HAVE VERY DETAILED SCENES OF TAVERN LIFE AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL TAVERN ART AND PROBABLY HUNG IN A TAVERN SOMEWHERE IN EUROPE.

ONE OF THEM DEPICTS 4 MEN SITTING AROUND THE ALE BARRELL FILING THIER PIPES FOR A SMOKE.

THE OTHER DEPICTS 3 MEN DRINKING AT THE TABLE AND SWAPPING YARNS.

ABSOLUTLY FABULOUS SHAPE

THERE ARE 3 VERY FAINT MARKINGS ON THE BACK OF EACH OF THE PLATES, THEY APPEAR TO BE OF A WOMAN STANDING WITH A CROSS OR ANCHOR OR SCALES,WITH WHAT LOOKS LIKE FLOWERS IN THE BACKGROUND, THERE APPEARS TO BE A DATE THAT LOOKS LIKE 1730, THE TOUCHMARKS ALMOST LOOK LIKE A COIN ( OLD STANDING LIBERTY) I SAW A MARK SIMILAR TO THIS ON A GERMAN CHARGER.

THIS MAY BE THE FEIN ZINN ANGEL HOLDING SCALES TOUCHMARK, ITS TO FAINT TO TELL FOR SURE

THERE ARE HANGING TABS ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF THE PLATES BUT THEY ARE BENT FORWARD, I WILL LET THE NEW OWNER STRAIGHTEN THEM OUT.

EACH CHARGER WEIGHS 1.5 LBS
