PHIL RIZZUTO'S BASEBALL: THE NATIONAL PASTIME ALL-CHROMIUM TRADING CARD SET
This is a complete, mint condition set of PHIL RIZZUTO'S BASEBALL: THE NATIONAL PASTIME Trading Cards (Comic Images/1995). This set consists of 90 cards in all (#1 - #90) each in an all-chromium finish. The cards features images & text from Baseball's earliest days.
Most of the cards are of early photographs & prints of ball parks (like the Polo Grounds, Sportsman's Park, Briggs Stadium, Shibe Park, Forbes Field, Highlander Park, etc.). There are also many photos of vintage baseball equipment too.
Other images are of vintage baseball memorabilia (from the 1880s to the turn of the century), classic early baseball magazine covers, old team photos, reproductions of early Tobacco Cards, cartoons & assorted items of interest.
Some of the early players featured are John McGraw, Patsy Dougherty, Jake Beckley, Sam Thompson, Bobby Wallace, Fogarty & McGuire, Yank Robinson, Charlie Comiskey, and more.
The card backs have information about the images depicted as well as trivia questions about the early days of baseball.
Why this is called "Phil Riuzzuo's" baseball & why his name is attached to this card set, I really don't know. I do not see any specific images of Scooter in the set. This was quite the departure of a subject for a card set, especially produced by Comic Images, who specialized in Comic Book releases. It was produced in limited quantities & not widely available for sale.
We Happily combine postage costs on Multiple Wins. Winner agrees to send payment within 7 days. Thank you and good luck.
