THE BEST WAY TO WEIGHT YOUR PINEWOOD DERBY CAR IS WITH 3/8" LEAD STICKS, PLACED INSIDE THE BACK OF THE CAR, AS WEIGHTS ON THE OUT SIDE OF THE CAR CAUSE "DRAG" THAT SLOWS THE CAR DOWN. LEAD IS ABOUT THREE TIMES HEAVER (BY VOLUME) THEN THE OTHER ALLOY WEIGHTS TYPICALLY USED IN WEIGHTING PINEWOOD DERBY CARS SO LESS OF IT IS NEEDED ALLOWING FOR A SLIMMER CAR DESIGN THAT MAKES FOR A FASTER CAR IN IT'S SELF. JUST DRILL 2 OR 3 3/8" HOLES IN THE BACK OF THE CAR AND SLIP IN THE WEIGHTS AND CUT TO SIZE AND COVER THE HOLES WITH BONDO OR WOOD PUTTY. LEAD IS SOFT AND CAN BE CUT VARY EASY. 3 STICKS APPROXIMATELY 5.0 OZ'S, USUALLY ENOUGH TO WEIGHT 2 CARS. PLEASE KNOW AND READ ALL SAFETY INFO ON THE HANDLING AND USE OF LEAD.
