This is a museum quality 'GICLEE' Print.
(For more on what a "GICLEE" print is, please see my detailed "WHAT IS A GICLEE PRINT" further on in this auction)

A GICLEE print on canvas is your closest option to an original.
Giclee's can be printed directly onto canvas or fine art papers, and use a wide spectrum of color.
Giclee's have a higher resolution than offset lithographs and the dynamic color range is greater than serigraphy.

The French word Giclee means to spray or squirt.
The giclee process uses incredibly accurate computer controlled jets to apply ink to watercolor paper, canvas or other appropriate media.
These unique jets are able to vary the width of the ink stream to as small as 1/100th the width of human hair. It is this capability that gives the giclee its beauty.

These pigments, (the same material used to make artists oils & acrylics) are estimated to last without fading from 80 to 140 years*
* Only EPSON 'ULTRA-CHROME K3™' PIGMENT BASED INKS are used.

The Giclee should be afforded the same level of care as an original piece of art.
They are valuable works, beautiful reproductions but costly to produce.

The canvas & paper grades I use are the best money can buy. Superior material will add to the long life of your Giclee.
I use several grades of fine art papers. All are acid free and either 100% cotton or a blend of cotton and special synthetic materials.
These are canvas and paper grades specially formulated to absorb the ULTRA-CHROME K3 pigments.
Using these pigmented inks and the high grade materials will insure high color saturation, creating a brilliant product which may last many life times.

Each Giclee I create is an individual work of art.
It will last the rest of your life, and may be passed down to your progeny.

THEY ARE FILLED WITH INTRICACY - REPRODUCED IN MICROSCOPIC DETAIL.

SHIPPING COSTS
THIS UNSTRETCHED GICLEE WILL BE ROLLED.

(I charge shipping ONLY once for orders containing multiple items)

~ Written by Connett about this painting ~

This painting is one from my 'Messages from a Tiny Universe' series.

In a tiny universe where an alien sea is boiling up with predatory self replicating mechanized denizens. They are a throw back to their ancestor fleshy creators. The resemblance is only a physical echo. The idea is that machines are the natural next step in animal evolution. Why not?" When all the minds that ever lived perfect themselves to a point where they able to become one and be truly immortal, then they become God. And when we become Gods, we will create a new universe

This painting is patterned after my painting from 1980 entitled 'BLOOD FISH', which is also available here on EBAY, in my store.

~ STATEMENT FROM A LIMITED EDITION CANVAS PRINT BUYER ~

"The prints arrived today and I was very happy with all of your work. The internet pics don't do them justice. They look so much better "in person"!!! You should tell people on your web site that your prints come to life when you get them and what they see on the monitor is just a representation of the prints. I can't imagine how the real thing touches you."

WHAT IS A GICLEE ?

FRENZY FACTORY

The GICLEE (Zhee-Klay) image is the finest quality reproduction available. GICLEE on canvas is your closest option to an original painting.

GICLEE'S can be printed directly onto a variety of canvas or fine art papers, and use a wide spectrum of color.

Giclee's have a higher resolution than offset lithographs and the dynamic color range is greater than serigraphy.

The quality of the GICLEE print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes.
The GICLEE is commonly found in museums and art galleries.

(MORE) ~ What is a Giclee?

A giclee (zhee-KLAY) is a produced to order, high-resolution reproduction done on a special large format printer.

Giclee's images are the finest quality reproductions available and are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides finer color accuracy and image detail than other means of reproduction. The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums and art galleries.

Giclee's are produced from digital images (scans or high resolution photographs) of existing artwork. The process employs seven or more colors- (In this case we are using 8 colors) -light cyan, cyan, light magenta, magenta, yellow, black, light black and extra light black, of light fast, pigmented inks and finer and more numerous print heads resulting in both a wider array of color and the ability to use various media to print on.

The ink is sprayed onto the page, actually mixing the color on the page to create true shades and hues. The colors are brighter, last longer, and are so high-resolution that they are virtually continuous tone, rather than tiny dots. Details are also much crisper and exactly resemble the original artwork.

I do my own printing in my art studio. The same place where I paint the paintings. I have been printing for over 10 years. I "baby" each one of my prints as the individual works of art that they are. They are a direct reflection of the quality of my work and my integrity as a seller. I carefully hand sign each one, and in some cases paint the sides and add painted embellishments. (IF THIS HAS BEEN DONE, IT WILL BE CLEARLY STATED IN THE AUCTION DESCRIPTION. ALL my prints are signed). I make sure they are perfect and flawless.

I may run up to 10 test prints for a new work before I'm satisfied with the results. Only then will I offer them to my collectors. I distribute my work through website's and EBAY. If you read what my previous buyers have to say, (Please Click here if you would like to read my feedback page) you will see that everyone who has purchased one of my limited editions canvas prints is satisfied beyond their original expectations. Your computer can not show you the fine detail and wonderful colors of these prints.

Please bid with confidence. And if you have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact me through EBAY or directly at "connett@sbcglobal.net"

I would not allow anything to be released as a print that does not meet my own high standard of quality. I guarantee that if you are not completely delighted with any print I send you, you can have your money refunded. Your satisfaction is absolutely guaranteed.

The Giclee therefore should be afforded the same level of care as an original piece of art.
They are valuable works, beautiful reproductions but costly to produce

How should I care for, and should I frame my GICLEE ?

PLANKTONAUTS

> If you are purchasing one of my pre-stretched canvases with hand painted sides, there is no need to frame the piece. Thus offsetting some of the cost of canvas. However, you can do so at a custom frame shop. If you would like me to have the GICLEE framed please E-MAIL me or call my studio at (323)-227-4099. I can have this done for you for an extra charge.

> If you are purchasing a GICLEE on FINE ART PAPER or UNSTRETCHED CANVAS, you can frame it in several ways. You can buy an inexpensive "ready-made" frame at many stores, (SEE EXAMPLE IN PICTURE #7 above) They look 'pretty good' that way, and at the minimum cost, as low as $15.00 for a 18" X 24" glass or Plexiglas enclosed frame. The most inexpensive frames can be found at TARGET and similar discount stores. However, the piece would look much better in a bit better frame. Art chains such as 'BLICKS' or 'Art Supply Warehouse' have better "ready made" frames, which are made with archival elements. These will look better and prolong the life of your Giclee. You can purchase these frames over the internet in hundreds of online stores. Your cost will go up to $35.00 and up. Many art supply chains also have "frame departments" out in the real world.

> THE BEST WAY TO PROTECT your investment is to get the job done for life. ($40.00 & $UP). Have the matte and framing done by a Pro frame shop or a framing department, in an art supply outlet. Have your fineart paper giclee mounted & matted in a frame with archival materials under 'non-reflective' glass or plexiglas. This will last at least a life time, and so will your giclee. Perhaps many life times!

> If you purchase a small unstretched canvas GICLEE, you can have it mounted on an acid-free board, and place the frame around that. This is similar to a matt job for a drawing or watercolor on paper. You don't need glass over them, but doing so will prolong the life of the print to it's maximum, (possibly 140 years).

> Prolonged exposure to DIRECT sunlight will fade the colors in your print over time. The claim of 140 years is made with the assumption that you will not hang the work in the direct sunlight. Please be aware of this when choosing a location for your work.

> Do not expose your print to moisture of any kind. Spilled water, spray or any other exposure to liquid might damage the print.

A LETTER FROM A SATISFIED GICLEE OWNER

Robert ~ I just received and opened the Giclee print. All I can think is AMAZING!

The quality is all you described and BETTER! The colors are SO much better than what the computer showed.

Thanks for everything. I'll be watching for your new work!

Your art is fantastic! :) - Kenny Fitzelgrouber.

RS Connett, the Artist

Some words About the Art & the Artist

PICASSO'S BULL

BAD ADVISE

Much to my extreme joy, my paintings and drawings are now being collected world wide. My original paintings have been sold and shipped to almost every country in the world. With the exception of my childhood drawings and paintings, I have sold just about every original painting and drawing that I have ever done, except those lost in a house fire many years ago.

What do you see in my artwork? How does it make you feel? It's my hope that it will touch you in a profound way. I hope that it will carry you to a place somewhere near where it takes me. Another world. At least, a short respite from this one.

Art, in the case of drawing and painting, is a basic, almost instinctive need for the human animal. It pre-dates all language and civilization. And yet, it is an occupation that does not feed or cloth the body. It seemingly has no purpose other then to reach a deep yearning of the human spirit ... A deep yearning to 'create', to emulate our visions of God. We want to create our own worlds, just like God. We can not command the seas to rise or the mountains to move ... but we can draw. And this need in us, so unique, is the basis of all the cultures of the Earth. All that man has accomplished, the domination of the planet, all has it's basis in or need to create art.

So, what shall we call my art? The works I've done have been classified by others as "Outsider", "Surreal, "Low Brow" "Psycho-Representational" and "Psycho-Cartoonisum". (I made that up) I don't really mind what anyone calls my art, as long as they have some sort of interaction with it. Actually, I'm glad they call it something. I suppose 'REPRESENTATIONAL' is an adequate description of my style.

What it really is; The ranting in pen, paint and words of a relatively normal man, living in quiet desperation, slowly going mad on my way to oblivion or heaven, (or Hell or Reincarnation, who knows?).

You either feel my art, or you don't. If you feel it, take pleasure in it ... If you like it enough, you should buy it!

People who feel a need to "know" what it "is" or "is not", are people who are afraid that they will be judged.

Free yourself from this tragic foolishness! Enjoy whatever you choose to enjoy! Life is too short to worry what other people think. Connett's artwork is collected due to its beauty, captivating intensity, strangeness and honesty. It’s the kind of art that you stare into, and see many things, including perhaps yourself. Your interpretation of this work is a direct reflection of who you are. It is art of many meanings to many people. It is a mirror.

Most of my work grows from a single stroke. It is spontaneous. My need to paint and draw began as, and remains a "catharsis". An unplanned way to express feelings that I do not fully understand. Thus, It is not intellectual art. Any intelligence, (or lack there of) found within these canvas portals come from within the observer, not the creator.

I'm thankful that my work has become accepted and collected after three decades of relative obscurity. I have developed a following of loyal collectors and supporters. I've been online with my Gallery, "The Vomitus Maximus Museum" since 1994.
