This auction is for a 25 page softcover American School of Needlework Plastic Canvas Pattern book # S-29, PLASTIC CANVAS CELEBRATIONS FOR WEDDINGS, ANNIVERSARIES, BIRTHDAYS AND BABY SHOWERS, designed by Barbara Hunter and Carol Wilson Mansfield, dated 1983.  Absolutely terrific projects for your most celebrated family events - centerpieces with matching napkin rings, nut cups, placemats, and even flower girl's basket . This book contains instructions, materials lists, black & white photographs, charted graphs, and full-color photographs of the finished projects on the covers.  The book is in excellent condition, with only a small torn place on the front cover where a price sticker was removed.

CELEBRATE A WEDDING!:  Three-layer cake and basket table decorations, nutcup, napkin ring:  These delightful bridal shower decorations are fun and easy to make with white plastic canvas. The three-layer cake is a spectacular centerpiece for a buffet table. Topped with a purchased wedding cake ornament, festooned with satin trims, stitched with white yarn and pearls, and acented with ruffled lace, it really looks good enough to eat! Accent smaller tables with the charming flower girl's basket, filled with fresh or silk flowers. For each guest, stitch a nutcup in the form of a miniature wedding cake ( a nice take-home favor), and a dainty napkin ring. There's really very little stitching on these projects, as the white canvas is often left unstitched to become part of the overall design.

CELEBRATE AN ANNIVERSARY!:  2-layer cake, napkin ring, placemat:  Whether it's the first or the 50th, our basic wedding cake design adapts beautifully for an anniversary celebration. We've shown this set for a golden 50th anniversary, but you can stitch it in silver and white for a 25th, or your choice of colors for other dates. The set includes a charming placemat design featuring lovebirds and bows, and a napkin ring.

CELEBRATE A BIRTHDAY!:  1-layer cake, placemat:  Center the birthday table with this keep-forever cake trimmed with roses, lace and real cake decorations. We've done ours as a Sweet Sixteen party, but you can change colors and decorations as you desire. We've included a lacey pink placemat decorated with roses. Again, colors can be changed as you desire. Serve a real cake to eat, of course, and let the honoree take home the plastic canvas cake.

CELEBRATE A BABY!:  Centerpiece and placemat:  Everybody loves a baby shower - and it's such a wonderful opportunity to decorate a luncheon table! Highlight of the table will be our darling rocking horse, complete with dimensional ears and a curly yarn mane. There's little stitching, as he is worked on yellow plastic canvas, much of which is left unstitched as part of the design. An appealing teddy bear dressed in a felt vest accents each side of the horse. The horse is designed so that you can use silk flowers or insert a container for fresh ones. Baby block nutcups and colorful placemats complete the set. The mother-to-be will be delighted with her party! Perhaps your gift to her could be all the decoration you make so that she can use them for her baby's future birthday parties.
