Playboy states that the #1 magazine inside is an exact reproduction of the original December 1953 Playboy 1st issue featuring Marilyn Monroe on the cover and as the centerfold. Only a portion of the 20,000 copies reprinted by Playboy were sold in a deluxe-boxed set making this edition of Playboy #1 the most rare version.
