Previous to the Treaty of Tilsit

The Treaty of Tilsit established at Tilsit ( present day Sovetsk) was a peace Treaty established in 1807 between France & Russia & France & Prussia. The terms of this Treaty were set by Napoleon Bonaparte & Czar Alexander 1 of Russia.

Engraved for,

" A Complete Atlas of The World Comprised in Thirty - Four Maps engraved from the best authorities and the most recent discoveries by Mr John Russell and others"

and published London, Fisher, Son & Co. 1839, dated and credited in the plate.

The full wash original hand colouring is attractive and appropriate and adds considerably to the visual appeal. All borders are complete with good margins beyond ( some creasing to the right lower margin ). Eminently suitable for mounting and framing for display.

Fine, virtually unmarked condition. A handsome old map.

Measuring approx. 9" x 7" (230mm x 180mm) including borders.
