Please be aware that carpet companies sometimes grade the carpet weights prior to completing the manufacturing process. Thus a 20 ounce weight by one mill may not be the same "weight" as another mills carpets.
Our post-sheared, not pre-sheared carpet weights seem superior to other mills higher weight ratings! Bubba, you know when the place says a pre-cooked 24 ounce steak, but when it hits your plate it's more like 12 ounces...well, that's what we're talkin' about. Some carpet is "pre-cooked", our carpets are rated after they have been "cooked."
THE CARPET KIT
The kit also comes with our famous (or infamous), funny, informative, illustrated (with G rated photos only) installation manual written by guys that install carpet every day and know what they're talkin' about. Now guys, you gotta read it before you start the job...I know that's going to be a real test for some of you, but please try it. If not, get the spouse involved and she will read it to you.
We'll also send along a very sharp carpet knife and some extra blades. We should probably send some bandages too, but we're assuming you'll lay off the Bud while installing the carpet. The glue fumes are bad enough!
This carpet is marine grade, UV resistant, rubber backed for a glue down application. We recommend using an outdoor WATERPROOF carpet adhesive available at your local hardware store. Contact cement, woodworker's grade, can also be used but contact cement is harder to work with--it "glues" on contact! Geez, Bubba I wonder how it got its name?
We're also available to answer any questions or offer advice while you're doing the installation. |
