Amended Closure as of 8/24/06
We thought over the years we were doing a lot of customers a favor by allowing them to 'rush' a costume. We have found that in most cases it is not the best idea for either our customers, or ourselves.
The first reason being: It is not fair for the customers willing to wait a month for the completion of their costume, to have to wait longer because of another customer who has waited until the last minute or found us at the last minute, to be fit into the schedule.
The second reason being: These costumes are not ready made, each one is lovingly made from scratch as the order is placed. We have a specific procedure we follow for each order as it is received. 'Rush' orders disrupt the 'flow' of the operation and actually create a backlog for us in the work area.
We can average 2 to 3 weeks for completion, if we do not allow for individual orders to qualify as a "rush" order. So, we will no longer take orders that are needed for use sooner than three weeks from the completion of the customer requirements, to make it fair to each and every Snookies customer!
We all work very hard on Ebay to please OUR customers and this has to be one of the hardest things to accomplish. Not only do you have to meet the quality standards that your customers expect, the timing is also of great importance. Usually, rushing a costume creates a costume of less quality, but when we take a longer time for quality then the timing becomes the issue. It is a double edged sword!
Though we have not totally perfected this we are closer than we were 4 years ago and with help from our great customers like you, I know we will achieve the balance we all need for success!
As you are probably well aware, most ebay'ers are particular about their feedback. I am no different in that respect, so there are a few things I'll let you know before we do business:
1. Due to the increase of business in the fall, for Halloween and Fall Faires, we will limit our October order period. We will only accept orders due to arrive to our customers in the calendar month of October, for the first week of October. Any orders after October 7 will be scheduled to arrive in November.
2. When you make your purchase, be sure to put in the date you need your costume. Paypal has a convenient place to put notes to me right on the payment! The date your items will arrive will be no less than 21 days from the day we have payment AND your complete measurements!! Be sure your date is at least three calendar weeks (21 days) from the date you place your order and complete the measurement requirement. If it is a date less than the specified three weeks, your money will be refunded and your order canceled. There can be exceptions to this during certain slow periods of the year. It is always a good idea to email ahead if you are needing 'special handling' of any sort.
3. If we are delayed we will contact you immediately. We will always offer to do what we can to 'make things right' no matter who is at fault. We want HAPPY CUSTOMERS! (If you love us tell your friends, if you dont love us it is ok to forget we ever met!) If for some reason we can not reach an agreement, we agree to leave 'reciprocal' feedback, in other words you leave feedback first, and we will leave the exact feedback, word for word, for you! We work hard at being easy to work with!
The fact of the matter is, this isn’t heart surgery guys, the plain and simple truth is you won’t die without a costume, but you will always have the choice of either getting your money back or getting your costume as soon as we can get it to you!
Reasons for delays from our end: Hurricanes (check our address!), My autistic son, personal health issues, etc. I’m human, life happens to us too!
4. Management reserves the right to refuse service. Why would we do that? Sometimes I have gotten obnoxious, belligerent, repeated phone calls and emails! I know you wont be 'one of those' but I have to protect myself, so this is the place to do it! The best remedy for this is for you to treat me the way you want me to treat you!
5. Unless you are a repeat customer we allow no color changes. The fabric your custom costume is made from is bought in bulk to save your money and our time. Please don't ask us to use your fabric, as we can not be responsible for that. Can you imagine if everyone decided they wanted to buy their own fabric and send it in? Also, this option has been abused in the past customers have ordered 'red' as their color: example: “I wanted Xmas red not fire engine red". Again, it is a matter of providing high quality at an affordable price!
6. We make our costumes for the 'average sized' individual. This is not to say that we do not want to do business with a 'larger than average' clientele, on the contrary, we want to make a costume for every person out there!
When you make your payment by paypal, I will send out the 'measurement information' sheet to the email address they provide. This sheet is for the measurements I require to decide which patterns will be 'put together' to make your costume. This sheet has my phone number on it for a personal touch in the information gathering stage of our work! I look forward to our conversation!
7. These are custom ordered costumes and since they are custom created for the individual there are no refunds once the item is cut. If there is a problem we will work with you to fix it, or replace it, but there are NO REFUNDS.
8. If a costume is refused at delivery or returned without authorization from us, it will be donated to charity. (We will make a reasonable effort to contact you, we realize that 'life' happens! Receipt from donation will be mailed to your address, regular post.)
9. On the Subject of Cancellations- We realize that while 'life' happens, we are in business to make and sell costumes. If for some reason, between the paypal purchase and receiving your measurements, you can not follow through with the deal, your money will be refunded. Your refund will be MINUS all paypal charges, listing fees and a 10.00 charge for the set up that we do immediately upon receiving your order. If the garment has already been cut there are no refunds.
10. We only ship on Fridays. Confirmation notifications will go out on by Sunday.
General Information or Things We Think You Might Want to Know Before Placing an Order:
We live on a fisheries Island, they smoke mullet here (no that’s not a bad hair cut) it’s a fish. Sometimes when the wind changes the air will have a sweet smoke smell like barbequed ham. (This is NOT cigarette smoke!!) To me, this is not a bad thing. I think it smells better than some of the natural fibers we use. However, since some people are sensitive I am mentioning it. The best remedy for this is airing it outdoors (or a delicate wash in Woolite if you don't feel that is adequate). No, I can not tell you when it will happen! Just that it can, so please keep this in mind when bidding. There will be NO REFUNDS just because you don't like the way it smells!
