PRE 1900 WOODLAND INDIAN BEADED SEWING BIRD PIN CUSHION
Presenting a turn of the century, pre 1900 Woodland Indian, probably Tuscarora, hand beaded sewing bird pin cushion. Most likely made for the tourist trade in Niagara Falls, New York. Great design,excellent condition. So much attention has been given in the making of the detail of this handsewn beaded sewing bird pin cushion. This lovely turn of the century cushion has wonderful colored beads that are all hand sewn on red material, black velvet double wings. This piece is in good condition with some minor bead loss, and does have wear and holes in the material as shown in photos. I believe this piece is saw dust filled. The measurements are 7-3/4'' long and 5" wide from the belly of the bird to tip of upper wing. So much attention has been given in the making of the detail of this hand-done pin cushion. The beadwork is on both sides. This is the heirloom you can pass down through your generations. What a spectacular addition to one's antique beadwork collection. I have listed other beadwork pieces from my collection. I have taken a picture of my collection that I will be selling throughout the following months. This last photo is not to be sold as part of this particular listing auction. The pieces in this photo will be sold individually in the coming months. This is my private 20 year collection.
