This is a great insulator for use in insulating workshops, attics, homes, foundations, timber frame structures, metal buildings, any outbuilding, etc. These are used materials, in good condition, but will have some corner damage, chipped edges, some incomplete sheets, etc. If you were to buy sheets of this material at your local home center, the truckload would retail new for over $16,000! We are selling it used here for $6000, freight cost additional. That's over 60% off the retail cost! If you need a lot of material for a large project, you can save a lot of money over new pricing. XPS foam is the material contractors prefer due to its versatility and its high RValue. This material is acquired during our full service recycling process. We sift though thousands of yards of material, and it is a lot of work to obtain the usable sheets of insulation. Every year, we keep tons of non-biodegradeable material from ending up in the landfills.

There is a similar material that is commonly confused with Extruded PolyStyrene, and that is Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS). It is usually referred to as Beadboard because it is made of tiny hollow beads of plastic, all fused together. It is the same material as the white foam bracing you would see in a box protecting a computer monitor, except it is in flat sheets. The two types of foam are made of the same plastic, but a different manufacturing process. The Extruded is harder, denser, and is usually preferred for below-grade applications. It has a higher RValue at about 5 per inch, compared to EPS being 3.5 per inch. It is also a lot more expensive. This IS the Extruded form of plastic foam. This auction is for a 53' tractor trailer of material for $6000, and you are accepting the load AS IS, shipped from our collection point in Virginia. Please contact us for a freight quote to your location. Freight is not included in the price of the auction. This project has started, and earlier pre-orders are being filled as material becomes available. New Pre-sale orders will start shipping in about a month. As material becomes available, we will ship in the order purchased, unless otherwise agreed. The balance is due at time of shipment.
