Place your bids on this original autographed photo signed by US President Harry Truman and his Vice President John Nance Garner. In addition, this auction includes a hand written account of their day spent together by both men.

President Truman (b. May 8, 1884 - d. Dec. 26, 1972) was the United States thirty-third president. Truman served from 1945-1953.  He was the only president who saw combat in World War I as he served as an artillery officer. 

John Nance Garner (b. 1868 - d. 1967) was the 44th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives (1931-33) and the 32nd Vice President of the United States

  • Truman autograph signed on the photo measures 3 1/4" x 1 1/8" and is in very fine condition and clearly legible
  • Garner autograph signed on the photo measures 3 1/4" x 1 1/8" and is in fair condition, with age fading
  • Photograph measures 14" x 10 3/4" and displays creases on edges and discolorations
  • Truman's written account with his signature measures 15" x 7 1/4" and is in fair condition, with tears on edges, fading and old water stains
  • Dedication of Truman reads: "This was a wonderful day for me, spent with a good friend, John N. Garner, discussing history and things in the future. I hope for a repeat some time. White House, April 27, 1950"
