Elk Wood Products is proud to present a new line of primitive chalkboards!  We will call them the Olde Country Cottage Chalkboards.  We handcraft them here in our shop in Springfield, Ohio!  We take the time to make sure all of the details of each piece is perfect! This ensures us that each piece looks like they have been around a very long time and that they last even longer!

This listing is for a handcrafted and handpainted Olde Country Cottage Chalkboard. It measures 20" wide by 30 3/4" high. The top trim is 21 1/2" wide. This piece features a Brownstone over Carriage Black  finish, solid Poplar wood frame construction, a mortise and tenon jointed frame for strength, top trim, and a 3" deep shelf  deep enough to hold an eraser and a groove for holding chalk.

Each piece has a lot of character! They are distressed with a brick around the edges in the right places to give it a well worn natural look. Wormholes were simulated with a chisel. The distressing in no way harms the integrity of the the fine construction of the piece!

The frame was handpainted using the high quality Olde Century Colors Simulated Milk Paints. First a base coat was applied, then the topcoat. The piece was then distressed  around the edges and then sanded. The frame was then treated with a topcoat of the Olde Century Colors Antiquing Liquid which both seals and protects the piece while giving it a beautiful patina!

 The UPS shipping charge can be calculated at the bottom of the listing. These chalkboards ship at the UPS Oversize rate 1. Included in the shipping charge is a handling fee to cover the packing material cost. Good packing is very important. We never profit from shipping and handling fees. Your items can also be picked up here in our shop by appointment.
