IT IS A WILLOW TREE DESIGN WITH ALPHABET, EXECUTED IN A VARIETY OF STITCHES, IN WHAT LOOKS TO BE COTTON FLOSS ON A LINEN HOMESPUN TYPE FABRIC. IT IS SIGNED (STITCHED) "ANNA RICHARDS 1797" AS WAS DONE ON THESE SCHOOLGIRL SAMPLERS. IT HAS BEEN EXPERTLY FRAMED IN A WOODEN FRAME WITH DISTRESSED BLACK FINISH, THAT SUITS THE EARLY PERIOD STYLE WELL. IT IS UNDER GLASS AND HAS A PAPER BACKING, WITH SAW-TOOTH HANGER, READY TO DISPLAY. THE PIECE MEASURES 13 1/8" TALL  X 12" WIDE X 7/8" DEEP.  THE ACTUAL DESIGN AREA INSIDE OF THE FRAME IS 10 3/4" X 9 1/2"AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
