FOLK ART Antique Style

This NEW rustic antique style Primitive table MAT is made of wool and is hand stitched with a blanket-stitch and features pineapple patches in the center and coin circles around the edges.

This wonderful table mat is made in the penny / coin rug fashion and measures approximately 18.5" in diameter !  The primary colors are all primitive shades of gold, barn red, and green on a black background.  The pineapples are a deep gold color and have embroidery worked details as shown in the first photo.  The back is completely lined as shown in the second photo.  It is very nice !!!!! Brand New!

This intricate penny mat really makes a statement.  It creates a dramatic backdrop to any room.  The layered, multi-colored coins and detailed stitching offer wonderful accents to any decor.

Who can resist this one ... Great decoration for your home or office interior. It would make a terrific wall hanging or table pad.

Penny rugs were originally made in the 1800's. Victorian women gathered scraps of wool or wool felt from old clothes or hats and used coins as templates to create designs for mats and rugs. Each decorative wool "penny" was appliqued in a blanket-stitch fashion to a wool background. Sometimes the pieces were backed with burlap bags or feed sacks and a penny was stitched under one of the circles to weigh it down and make it lie flat.

Please note:  This item has been created to look old.  Minor imperfections are considered normal and only add to the charm and authentic look.

International Shipping - We ship outside the US by request only.  If you would like a shipping quote, please contact us.  We only ship via USPS Priority Mail International.  Delivery time is generally 6-10 days.  A phone number is required for ALL International shipments and shipping may be delayed pending receipt of this information.  Buyer is responsible for any applicable customs fees upon arrival of shipment.  Please note:  There is no package tracking available for shipments outside the US and we cannot guarantee delivery.  Although we have never had a shipment that did not reach its destination, we have, on rare occasions, experienced shipment delays.
